Incoming K Parents

Welcome to Clarendon Japanese Bilingual Bicultural Program! We look forward to meeting you and your child at school.

The first day of school is Monday, August 20th, 2018, but there are several ways to get to know the school and community even before you set foot on campus.

Getting to Know the School & JBBP Community

Walk-through Meeting & Kinder Orientation

Join us for an informal Q&A session in April--date TBA. We will meet in the Lower Yard where the school staff who will introduce you to the campus and answer any questions you have. No need to RSVP.

Can’t make it then? No problem. There will also be a casual orientation hosted by your Kindergarten teacher(s) on Thursday, August 16th from 6-7pm. More details to come.

Welcome Picnics

Clarendon JBBP Parent Advisory Council (PAC) together with the Clarendon Second Community Parent Association will host a couple Incoming K Welcome Picnics--one in April and another in August. Make sure to leave your email address on file at the school office when you register so that we can contact you via Evite with the details. These picnics are an early opportunity to meet your fellow incoming families and for your child to meet his/her new friends. The Welcome Committee along with parents already familiar with the school will be there to answer questions and help you feel settled into your new school home.

The directory is for school-related communication only. Information contained within will be treated with the appropriate respect for privacy.

What to Expect on the First Day: Monday, August 20th

School starts at 9:25am daily. Please come to the Lower Yard with your Kindergartner--this is where your child and his/her classmates will meet their teacher every morning.

There is ample street parking around Clarendon but the first few days tend to be crowded. Please allow plenty of time and park legally.

Please have your child bring a standard size backpack large enough to accommodate communication envelope, book bag, homework folder, lunch, snack and jacket. Please also have them bring a packed lunch or money ($3) for school lunch, and snack to eat at recess. The school will provide all necessary supplies--pencils, crayons, paper and binders.
